このオリジナリティある存在感を醸すブランドは、「墨」をアセテートに混ぜ合わせた生地でアイウェアを製作しているドメスティックブランド【Qulo｜クロ】。眼鏡では主流となったアセテートフレームの汎用的なモノ作りを、素材から独創的なモノ作りに置き換えスタートしました。当初はアセテートの「黒」を如何に墨色に発色できるかをテーマにしていましたが、プロジェクトが進行する過程で「黒」そのものよりも、独特な墨の色の色彩をどのように表現できるかというコンセプトに到達。その色彩の元となる墨値なるのは、奈良で伝統的な製法を継承して墨作りを行っている老舗「古梅園」の墨。
In the launching this brand [Qulo], they rearranged a general process of crafting acetate frame from choosing materials. In the first thought, they put “how we could make a charcoal color from using black” as their theme but it has changed to “how we express an unique charcoal coloring” in the process of the project.
